Call Waiting

If you have an incoming call while you are already on the line, you will hear a “beep.” To answer that call, press the hookswitch. This puts the first call on hold and you can talk to the incoming call. If you wish to speak to the first call, press the hookswitch again. To disconnect either call, hang up. Your phone will ring and you will be reconnected to the call you put on hold.

Call Forwarding

To forward your calls to another phone, pick up the receiver and listen for a dial tone. On a touch-tone phone dial 7-2-# (on a rotary dial phone dial 7-2 and wait 4 seconds). Listen for the dial tone again then dial the number where you want your calls to be forwarded. If someone answers at the forwarding number the feature is working. If no one answers, hang up and repeat the steps above within 2 minutes and you will hear 2 beeps. This will mean the call forwarding is working.
To cancel call forwarding, pick up the handset and listen for dial tone, Dial 7-3-# (on a rotary phone dial 7-3 and wait 4 seconds). You will hear 2 beeps. You have cancelled the call forwarding and will receive calls on your phone.

Three Way Calling

To add the third person to your call, press the hookswitch for one second. That puts the person you were talking to on hold., When you hear the dial tone, dial the person you want to enter your conversation. When you reach this party, press the hookswitch for one second and the three way call is complete. If you cannot complete the call to the thrid person, press the hookswitch twice and you will be able to talk with the party you put on hold. To disconnect the third party, press the hookswitch for one second or if either of the people hang up you can continue talking with the remaining person. To cancel the call completely – hang up the phone.

Speed Calling 8

To enter your 8 speed calling numbers, pick up the receiver and listen for a dial tone. Dial 7-4-# (on rotary dial phones, dial 7-4 and wait 4 seconds). Listen for a dial tone again. Dial a speed code (2 through 9) then dial the number you want to speed dial. (Remember: on long distance entries you must include the 1 and the area code.) Press the # button (on rotary phones skip this step and wait 4 seconds). Listen for 2 beeps. That means that the number you entered and the receiver may be hung up.

You are ready to enter the other numbers on your list by using the next speed dial code. Keep a list of your speed dialing codes. When you wish to call one of the numbers, just pick up your receiver, get the dial tone, and dial the one-digit speed code (2 through 9). Press # button (on rotary phone, skip this and wait 4 seconds). Your call will be automatically dialed.

Caller Identification - Name & Number

A caller name and number will appear on your caller ID enabled telephone hardware.  If “P” or “Private” appears on the display, the caller may have blocked their information.  If “Unknown” appears, then number may be unlisted or they do not have information to support caller ID.
